i bet you could get awa y with the original suspension and do a brake upgrade. i would imagine alot of work went into the suspension to get it to ride well.
Just throw the pinto in and drive it somewhere private to see what you need to change.

Custom truck ..MOT ready

Nice project.
if it were mine I'd keep it subtle on the outside. Lowered, wider steel wheels, possibly widen wings a little, modernish motor (straight 5/6 ?) turbo volvo perhaps. Traditional colour paint and use as daily driver.
Trying to think of the black and white film that featured one, ex army guys who rob a bank?
That'll be The League of Gentlemen.
Looks good with the skirts. (pic from IMCDB.org)
Hi thanks for the suggestions i was thinking of widening the rear arches a little, i think the league of gentleman car is the next model from mine a TA21 maybe? I'll be trimming the sills angles to fit some side running boards. Unsure of a roof chop at the moment quite like the height as is. Will be trying to keep it fairly original on the outside. Managed to get most of the rotten wood out today the floors and the dash especailly bad. Previous owner had made their own firewall and its really bad fitting and looking. Dropped the pinto and box in this morning and fitted really well actually. Even mountings lined up to spaces on top of the chassis and sits nicely and the 5 speed box's gear lever is pretty well positioned all in all pretty happy with the choiceBTW liking the Bentley
Might just try the original leaf springs for the moment and see how it goes, the diff's got no innards so looking to replace, have a chance at a p100 complete rear as something to think about
Love it
More Brit tin brilliant
Pinto is a good choice if it means you can use it as much as you like, keep the build simple is my only advice, other than that it is your car so do as you see fit.
All the best with the project, you will get all the advice you need on here I'm sure
Cheers DAVE
