    will do pete
i often get parts when they're cheap even if i have no current or planned use for them. they may come in useful one day or a mate may need them so can take advantage of my shrewd purchasing to save money too.

so all that's left are the superlights and they're bolted to my '67 2 door mk2 cortina (yeah another one) now. everything else has gone!.
i've collected stuff for the cortina now though. 2.0 pinto and 5 speed type 9 box, twin 40 webers, kent cams cam kit, 4 branch manifold and 2" exhaust, series 1 dash top with gauges and 1600e dash wood panel. oh, and a rollover jig so i can paint the underside to match the top. here's some pics as it is now, it was painted about 20 years ago so not looking too shabby.

back to the compulsive thing , i'd still like to do a late 20's early 30's gasser so still buying stuff at the right price when it comes up. weld rodlites, sort of the ******* child of a slot mag and a halibrand to look at a pair of 7x15 and a pair of 4x15, they;ll do then . still waiting for my mates container from north dakota with my motor and bits in. 4 bolt 350 from a running truck, a used t5 bellhousing for my t5 box i got here waiting, a used hurricane (i think) inlet which is a summit knockoff of a victor jr, a new scat 383 stroker package that's a rebuild kit too with cam, lifters, timing chain set, oil pump, gasket set, core plugs ('cos we're english ) as well as the crank, rods, pistons, rings and shells. i've got a nice pair of afr heads here too which are larger chamber ones so about 9.5:1 compression so will be just fine with a couple of turbos giving 6-8psi boost. been on a yank turbo forum and gave them the full spec, they tell me 450-500hp n/a and 700-800hp with 6-7psi boost. not sure how long the t5 will last but it'll be fun. also got a 52" wide overall 9" axle with 3.25:1 gears which should be nice with an lsd of some kind (whatever comes up as usual). anyway i've bored you enough so i'm off.

not updated this for a while, all change....... again
the cortina has gone along with the pinto and 5 speed and other bits i bought for it. i almost had a 68 dodge dart gt but the owner stateside changed his mind deciding to keep it after all. but the 68 plymouth valiant signet i was looking at last autumn came back on ebay so a bit of haggling late and it's mine, all paid for. here's a link to the ad (schroll down to see it) to see where i'm starting from https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PLYMOUTH-...vip=true&rt=nc
the six will stay for this year while i rebuild the 383 big block i've bought for it. now here's my problem, choosing whether to stroke the 383 to a 496 with ally heads for 550-600hp or freshen it up and turbo it for similar power? if you like the turbo idea understand it will be blow through carb, i will not be using efi so don't go there . what's your thoughts either way?
    neil.

i like a boxy saloon so it's just right for me. as well as the 383 i've still got the narrow 9" axle and i've accumulated more wheels (as i do). 3 pairs of slot mags, 2 10's, 2 8.5's and 2 5's. all have good tyres. also the set of weld rodlites are actually 7.5's and 3.5's, not what i thought previously but i think better sizes. so wheel choice is good.
i intend making the bodywork hard for myself as i want to paint it gloss black. at least as i'm not a fussy bugger i can do one panel at a time while i use it allowing me to get each one proper straight. that's the plan anyway. interior wise it'll be a breakers yard trawl for a set of black seats (leather preferably) and retrim the rest to match. i should get it back here in the next week so i'll be getting it ready for an mot so i can register it.
    updates to follow.

ps i've got a few little jobs lined up which'll help pay for the 'stuff' i want for the valiant, if you're interested i'll post some details. cheers, neil.
