    hi wayne, just started doing a bit with a mate. he's doing a bit of everything but only with old cars/trucks so just what i like. i'm finally getting a new 6 1/2 metre square shop put up this summer on the plot across the road from me that i bought a while back. it'll free up my garage by the house to get more done. i'll just work for myself from now on, much like yourself but not as busy as you .

    i'm collecting an A body 4 speed gearbox from a 69 dart this coming weekend. the guy has the box, shifter, clutch linkage and propshaft for £500 so a no brainer really. i just have to make a shift lever and a clutch pedal. i do want it 5 speed but i want it on the road more and my machinist guy is flat out with work since he's been allowed out again so it'll be a while before he can do the bellhousing. still i can save up for a tremec which'll be stronger than the t5 so there's another upside.

    oh and i collected a load of 32 glass panels yesterday. all 4 wings, running boards, pickup bed sides and tailgate and a set of those glass chassis covers/rails with the 32 swage line in them. they've not been made for years so they were a great bonus. i already have a glass grill shell and enough of a roadster body to add a back for a roadster pickup, so the gasser 32 is back in the pipeline.

    i picked up the trans and parts friday as planned. i just need a shift lever and a clutch pedal both of which i'll make and alter the auto brake pedal at the same time.
    good news is i've sold my wedding car to a mate who plans to do wedding hire so the old girl will get some use at last. it also means the valiant can go back in my garage to start on it again, woohoo!

    it's been a busy few days (relatively speaking). thursday evening ashley came round and helped me get my transit down onto the drive, sounds weird but that side of my drive slopes up to next doors drive so i drove the van up on 2 metal ramps, both on the n/s so it sat level. this made it's shed like use more practical for the last 3 odd years. anyway it either needed an mot so it was useful again or breaking/scrapping. yesterday morning i checked all the lights, 1 sidelight bulb out so easily fixed and a pair of new wipers fitted. off for the mot in the afternoon and all it needed was a tyre (i have 2 new but didn't pay to get them fitted in case it failed dismally on rust), 2 bits of welding and a metal brake pipe it'd been advised on at the last mot 4 ish years ago. so not bad really. today i got the new tyres fitted to the spare and failed wheels ready to fit and did the chassis welding n/s/r. then i swapped the front tyre to the n/s/r (both new are going on the front) and removed the bad brake pipe ready to make a new one in the morning.
    this was broken up mid day when ashley arrived with his zephyr so we could free up the sticky front calipers, check and adjust the rear brakes, check and top up the diff oil and swap out the cracked thermostat housing.
    last and best job was we pushed the valiant into the garage so i can make a start
