ok, so next on the bucket list is a full fendered 20's/30's gasser. so there i was all happy with my mk2 cortina, got a car to go to the shows in this year and...... temptation reared it's ugly head......again
not one to impulse buy (much ) i've bought a steel english 32 ford tudor sedan body . i showed the wife pics of rodded 32 sedans and said ''which do you prefer, the cortina or a 32?''. ''a 32'' she said so as expected the cortina was sold in very short order just in time for the swapmeet.
as of today i have a steel body with dash, garnish mouldings and driprails, a pair of repro chassis rails, a steel grill shell with stainless insert, a steel 4 piece rootlieb louvred hood, english b headlamps and most recently steel (english b) fenders and braces, running boards, splash apron and rear frame horn covers. i did buy rodline fenders and running boards too, but they'll now be sold. oh, and a rodline bulkhead which i'll copy in steel then sell on.
i have a 4 bolt 350 plus a scat 383 stroker/rebuild kit plus inlet and bellhousing coming over in a mates container from the us. and here in the uk i have a chevy t5 box, a pair of afr heads, a 9" axle, fat and skinny slot mags (i love 'em), an undropped I beam, wiring loom kit etc etc.
so, all the major bits really. the shell's in holland (yes it's that one, i got there first ) and a mate who lives there is collecting it for me. he's coming over to get some jag axles he's bought here. so i said ''i'll pay your ferries and diesel'' which i'd have to do anyway if i collected it. so he saves money and i save time which at my age can be more precious .
as soon as i get the body here (mid april) i'll post some pics of it all
