Now have brackets on the end of the removable tube. These will be bolted to a (probably aluminium) framework which will be bonded to the front end.

I took a huge amount of time trying to figure out how to attach the front end nicely. There are a couple of previous efforts in the scrap bin.....

Great stuff, the problem with Pop front ends like this is, relocating it on your own, removal is easy, but it take several attemtps to master it on your own due to visibility issues, got to say though -one of the neatest I've seen.
    Looking good

    Thanks for the compliment!
I have to say though, this arrangement is more for it's removability that its flip-ability. The 'bonnet' will be lift-off to allow maintenance etc, but the front end will be removable as a whole for shows and engine removal/serious work. Hopefully one of my friends or family will be able to give me a hand, but in reality they will probably just observe, then laugh when I chip chunks of paint off.......

    Nice hinge!!

Could you have a removable plastic block or similar to stop the bar coming forward on the bracket, so you could just tip it?
If it don't fit, make it adjustable!!!

It will have a couple of check-straps so that the front won't flip onto the ground, and if I position them right and physics are in my favour the sliding bar should stay firmly in the bracket.

Thanks for all of the nice comments guys!

The front hubs and brakes are from a Holden, and came with the front axle when I bought it.
Unfortunately, being Holden they were the Chevy stud pattern 4.75"
They have now been redrilled and re-studded to Ford 4.5" to suit the front wheels I have (easier and neater to redrill the hubs than to redrill/unilug the wheels).
Underneath all of that brown crud the brakes are NOS with new bearings and races. Something I didn't realise when I bought the axle. Result!

It has to be on its wheels in a couple of weeks time as we're moving house. The car is getting a lovely double-garage. I hope it doesn't get agoraphobic with all of that space around it!
