    A bit more panelwork.
Centre bulkhead bulge - this will be easily removable as it will have some of the wiring passing behind it:

Rear quarter panel now has a 15mm rivet flange welded to it. Flange is 2mm, panel is about 1.2mm. Yes, I have patience!

    Sexy coil bracket

And a bit of safety, working out where the plumbed-in fire system is going to go,

Cable will run straight along the back of the canister and up into the centre console panel.

And it's even out of the way of the passengers legs:

About a year or so ago I made a very spiffing looking brake and clutch fluid reservoir, with plans to mount it somewhere either on the inner or outer engine bulkhead.
Unfortunately the bulkhead is very small, the engine is very big, and the resulting exposed areas were impractical.
This has been an ongoing problem with me picking up the reservoir every month or so and trying it in various positions around the car.
Well this weekend I've nailed it!
Made this bracket (from metal still being cut from an old motorcycle shipping crate)

Then welded it to the LH inner wing/'A' pillar:

Which mounts the fluid reservoir using hidden bolts.

The feed lines will run down the wing/pillar, and then through the bulkhead at chassis level where they will be hidden by the trans-tunnel for the short hop down to the pedal box.

With it mounted up it mirrors the oil catch can on the opposite side:

A few more panels done, but nothing too exciting. Just one more panel to make (plus the door cards) and the interior panels are finished. Woo-hoo!

Revisiting the coil mount, I thought it would be better if it was vibration-proofed so opened up the mount holes a bit and found these rubber bushes in the ubiquitous 'old sh*t' box that everyone has:

    Then turned these. They are about 10mm where they go through the bush, and 12mm to weld into holes (that will be) in the chassis. They're tapped M6;

And with the help of a couple of sexy washers and coutersunk bolts:

    Enthusiasm!

Went down to the car today and set about a few things:

Made the two plain door cards, then just had to try on the dimple-died trims for laughs:

Made these panels for the front inner bulkhead panels:

They close off the gaps between the panels and the dash:

On the subject of the dash, when I modified it I left these two holes under the speedo. God knows why as they are useless as switch holes (unless I grow my arms a foot or so), and all of the idiot lights (except the oil light) are housed in the overhead panel. Today I re-discovered a couple of old bakelite screw-in fuse holders that fit the style perfectly. I'll use them as electric window fuses.

(You'll also notice it's grown a boost gauge).

And while the dash was off, I started to plumb-in the extinguisher system:

Which burps out to two nozzles hidden under the cowl.

It'll be good to get back to work for the rest!

On my car I put the nozzels at the front of the engine bay spraying back and one towards my feet, fortunately they have never been tested, but my thinking was when going forward and on fire to put the engine out and me at the same time, I think it was in guidance notes or reg somewhere, not sure about NZ regs?

I figured as it's a closed bonnet the nozzles would do their bit even if the car was still going forward. Also I wanted to ensure some coverage for the carbs.
There will be additional nozzles, one pointing at the driver's feet and one directed at the fuel tank and battery.
As far as the regs, for the class this will run in fire extinguishers are 'recommended' and not compulsory.
