Wow, I said earlier in the thread that this style wasn't my cup of tea, you've changed that old son. Really can't wait to see this finished.

cheers for the comments its much appreciated.

it locates on a lug on the alloy part of the body.

    fits in like this

and when its welded in place,

should hold it all together. also started to fab the radiator brackets, drilled them just need to cut them out tomorrow at work, polish and then weld them up on sunday. more then

got the rack all done , lot more solid now.

also cut the rad brackets and pre polished them on the inside before welding them.

get them polished on the outside now before welding them to the rad.

couple of pics of the down pipefrom the turbo,

tight fit but all fits ok. more tuesday

Great fabrication skills you have its looking very very good.

The tig welder your using what do you think of it ?
is it easy to use and reliable, i know for the money they are that it seems you cant complain to much,

Hi chop top if you look under most modern cars they have heat panels where the exhaust runs .im using it on my model a because i am routing my exhaust system in the pod where the running boards are and the silencers will be quite hot under there.its impregnated ally sheet so you can easily shape it .glyn

    thanks for the comments guys,

tig welder is really not that bad, for 350 quid you get what you pay for . been messing with the pulse setting on it tonight welding up some 5mm ally strip and it does not a bad job. i would give it a 7 for ease at which it is to set up and use. best 350 quid i have ever spent any way. cheers glyn for the nod towards the heat shied , will look into it.

got the bottom mounts for the rad done tonight.

seems to be plenty of room for the fans.

its going to get a bit tight for room in front of the rad as there is still coolant hoses and inter cooler pipes to run.the offy carb manifold inlet housing points the wrong way

and with a coolant hose on would foul the dizzy so modded a rover one which points in the wright direction

where does the pipe go to on the bottom of offy intake housing and if i blank it can i use the sender unit mount as a return as there is a sender in the rover houising.

any help would be much appreciated .more sunday.
