this weekend going to start sorting the body out so it can go for blasting before it,s welded to the frame. more soon

i know what you mean about the about the cable tie things, ive made some little alloy blocks which bolt to the fans ( in the slots) to hold them together and then the shroud will bolt to the blocks. should look ok when all bolted up.if it works

Does the shell need blasted? It could be the worst thing you do to it! Unless it's soda?

yeah it does really, i need the inner sills bare steel before the body is welded on also i would have everything bar the main panels done as sand blasting would warp them. im planing to have the whole car dipped to strip it down to bare metal and then dipped in primer so that even inside the chassis its protected as i want it to last.

with the front being so narrow every thing seems to fit ok. you can also see how much the engine is set back in the frame.

even with the wheels at more than full lock theres loads of room. pleased with what i got done today and i still have a day left to attack it so more pics tomorrow.

Just read the thread from the start and very impressed. The only thing that's a weak link is the gearbox. I've broken a few running P6 motors and totally mashed one when running twin turbo's on a stock SD1 motor. I've opted for a T5 for my motor. Also, when I ran the TT set up before I had no mufflers, it didnn't need them until the waste gates opened but I didn't care on full throttle in third!!!!!
Are you going for a blow thru set up? I'm going down the injection route as the overall outlay isn't much different.

What spec are you building the engine too?

    Very nice

    Jeff

p.s. You make my welding look utterly ****

    cheers jeff,
for this engine will be running the blow thru set up just to get the car on the road will then build another engine to handle the 36 pounds of boost the turbo will make i would love to put one of those easy set up efi carbs on. so i guess it will be steel crank, h beam rods and forged pistons and all the other goodies it will need. planing to stay 3.5 as well.

i did have a t5 box , the problem with them is third gear (mine had a duff third gear), talking to a few people they all say that cossies break that gear and they are expensive to repair so i sold it.i chose the lt box as it.s really short and would suit my application. the engine is a long way back, the whole chassis was designed around it.
bit of a surprise yesterday got the wheels and rear hubs back from the m/c shop so got it all bolted back on this mourning and it all fits ok and also the car now rolls, result.

this coming week i now have the bits to sort the handbrake so will get on with that. more soon
