    its a 33 apparently.
not that i know the difference nor do i ever need to know
its finished bar the bonnet need repainting.
    just needs mot,ing.
mind its just needed that for the past couple of years.
i really cant be arsed as the moments past plus prefer the build to the finished product.
this cars much to showey for my paranoia to cope with.

probably but maybe like me they wont fit it.
it was built for my wive(very small) but she is less exited about it than me.
she wants her beetle doing now.
i couldnt drive it as i cant see outa the screen.
am thinking about changing the seats to something more suitable(lower) to me and not my wive.
may look at it at easter when i have more time.

the mini's a great project , really exellent engineering,,,something for many to aspire to.
Your own car , the 33 looks great , but i know exactly what you mean in the building process being so much better than the end project, the cars great but the build must have tested you at times and i think thats what some people enjoy.
I,ve enjoyed the mini thread , some of the solutions you have come up with have been quite astounding, full credit to you. look forward to your next build.thanks for takeing the time to post it all.

I'm hoping you would still answer my question from post #129. I am hoping to get more information on the ball joints used and where you obtained them. JS

    hi strudel
the ball joints are citreon bx screw in type.
the uprights/spindles or whatever you call them are sierra.
the machined bit that goes in where the strut was, was machined up as a snug fit then a tapered hole put into it to suit the taper of the ball joint.
theres also a tab welded onto this part so the strut pinch bolt goes through it.

for most ball joints there are two different tapers.
    7 and 9.5 degrees.or there abouts.
the lower ball joint taper part of the sierra upright has to be reamed out as its not the same as the bx joint.
2 minute job with the correct reamer.
if you use granada spindles the ball joints fit straight on.
the screw in bit is welded to the a arms.these will have a screw in cap to finish them off at a later date.

you could use bolt on type ball joints if you wanted.i used screw in as i think it makes the set up look neater.
    either would work the same.

    the front dampers.
you can do air ride two different ways.
first a unit simular to a coil over that has the damper inside and the bag on the outside.
secondly like this mini you fit seperate bags and dampers.
all depends on space i guess.
if you dont use dampers id imagine youre car would handle like a space hopper.
the front dampers are counter levered of the top a arm mount so inboard.
this was due to slight space restrictions.

you could use any hub like this just needs a bit of research on the different type of ball joints available.
