    The Devon Rat work in progress........

    The Devon Rat a 1950 Austin A40 Devon Pickup with slight modifications:
    The cab has been widened 4 inches
    Wheelbase stretched 8 inches
    Volvo rear axle
    Cortina front suspension
    Peugeot 1900 Diesel engine with turbo and supercharger
    Rear roof of cab lowered approx 2 inches
    Fabricated rear body and wheel arches

    I like that.

    Was there any reason for widening the body.its came out really well.

    What did you use for the front screen
    Rod/custom/drag build profiles:
    Mini | Pop | Porker | Trike | Morris 8

    | 48 chevy coupe | ford f100 | tube chassis,d pop

    The reason I widened the body was because I was having trouble getting the front wheels under the wings. I hadn't yet built the floor and transmission tunnel so it made sense to widen it. The added bonus in my opinion is it gives the impression that its had a roof chop. For the windscreen I had an old boy local to me cut one as its just flat laminated glass.

    I like it.
    Also with those cabs being a bit tight for space the extra width will make it more comfortable.
    Looks like its gonna be a regular driver with your choice of engine?
