first project - bedford cf with rover V8

hey thought id post about my project as an introduction. ive got a bedford cf im putting a rover 3.5 V8 in. ive build a few bikes in my time but this is my first go at something with 4 wheels.

bought it cheep off of a mate whod just picked up a american van, the bedford had been around europe with us a few times on bike trips so wanted to keep it in the group. the van came with the V8 and an autobox sat in the back. had someone rebuild the bottom end and had it rebored. doing the top end myself at the moment.

turned out the box is junk but the old boy i took it to seems to think he has something that'll work.

my biggest hurdle right now seems to be finding a suitable diff and miine is 4.625:1!!!

id be happy to hear any tips or advice.

I think the answer used to be a Cresta diff, don't know which model but it's an avenue to explore . Otherwise it'll have to be an axle swap, easy enough.

if you can't find a diff and don't want to change the axle you could fit on overdrive box. zf4hp22 was fitted to range/land rover's, bmw's, jag's etc and aren't elctronically controlled so an easy swap. your tranny guy (that don't sound right, lol) can fit a 2wd tail to a landy/rangy box (rover v8 so bolts to your engine) so it all goes together easy.
    neil.
