Looks like you've had a bit of rot to contend with! It does look cool though, I'm assuming your going to fit those fibre glass bubble arches to it.I think the back wheels look smart just as they are, sticking out the sides still plod wont.Good luck with it

Hi, sorry to hijack this thread, but my mate ran a nitroused 5.0 ford smallblock in his MK III capri and it lived VERY happily with a mustang II rad.

hi yes it was featured in classic ford in february, i was intending to restore it but there was so much rot i decided to go silly with it instead
im using a rad from a vw passat tdi as its fits perfectly in the engine bay with 2 electric fans, it seems to cool the engine fine. theres not much going on with the car at the moment as im getting it ready to go to john sleath`s for a full roll cage, 9" ford axle with lsd and tubed rear end.
i wont be fitting fibreglass arches they will be steel bubble arches ! no fibre glass here im afraid!

it does seem like a crime to cut up a mk1 escort but i have to say its been worthwhile a really good project to work on, i have had some real challenges trying to fit all the v8 stuff into this car whilst keeping the original chassis and floorpans etc im hoping with a set of bubble arches on it wont look too out of the ordinary! apart from the cowel and the rear wheels. (and hopefully a parachute!!)
