I've been busy with other stuff recently like looking for new premesis and stuff
I got the motor and running gear 5.2 dodge and 4 speed auto back axle and prop. just working on the front beam at the moment. here's a couple of pics .. not much progress but should get stuck in again soon
finally found some spare time to crack on with the pick-up project, i got the engine and box mounted temp so i could start to figure everything else out around it.
I've got an ldv axle that's getting heavily modified and lightend to an inch of it's life... so i started by making some hubs to take my 5.5 1/2 wires and dodge steels also halfing the size and weight at the same time.
I thought i'd throw the bonnet and grill at it to see what happened.. and it just happened to fit like a glove.
Also the ldv axle has been narrowed by 9"
i took this out of the centre giving it a neat sharp angular look, kind of matching the grill contours.
I got the springs sitting where i want them so i started making the spring bracket/ covers, still in early stages but going down the route that i want, well pleased with how they look, more indepth info on these to come, like i said they are far from finished but you get the drift.
looking good mike
spring cover is so simple but effective
she's looking good keep us all up to date. DEREK . MANCHESTER
I`m sure I`m being simple here, but do you mean you made the entire hub to take the LDV disc and give you the stud pattern you wanted. How do you get the disc off without taking the hub off and how does the disc come off the hub? I`m sorry I just can`t get my head round it , it`s working out what you`ve fabricated and what`s original. The front beam axle just suits the car superbly with the point in the middle looks really cool.
