    Marmite.

Daughter wants a hot rod so im building her this.

Got the wheels off ebay £90

This bloke i know has given me access to a body-Thanks andy.....it's gonna need a lot of welding it's rotten on the drivers a pillar/roof/doors/and all the other areas pops rust in....When i got home i realised the camera was on black and white but i like the look of the pics so im doing the build in b&w

Plans for the running gear are keep the viva front but narrow it and make it fit and work properly/keep the jag diff but remake the wishbones/driveshafts lighter and narrower/engine wise a fiat punto 1.2 16v will do cos i have one. they're quick and good mpg 50+to pick the wheels up yesterday.
Normally when building a car you start from the chassis up but im gonna start from the roof down.1st thing is a cinquecento roof panel to fill the roof in tomorrow....dave

You,re right this won't be to everyones idea of what to do to a pop but I think it's cool you,re doing your own thing and I,m intrigued to see how you pull it off. You were very looking sourcing those wheels weren't you? For a steel too

Luck's not the word i was actually thinking i'd have to get some of them 3 spoke alloys that were all the rage for about one month in the mid nineties, and modify them by milling em flatter and adding the small spokes by tigging em in [ That would have been a trial and half ]. And the up popped those on ebay....and i won a fiver on euromillions the same day [Although i did promise id buy des taylor a racecar if mi numbers came up so that's spoken for PMSL ]
Not had a good look at chassis but what i can see looks ok.....im probably just gonna box it and add more crossmembers...it's not having mega power through it and im thinking of making a strong floor welded to body all round and then bolted through chassis.

I think it would work quite well and much better in the flesh than people would think, if you know what I mean. Go for it and good luck
