It looks gorgeous. The paint looks like you could dive in it. I hope you're not going to be afraid to drive it looking that nice?

Thanks for the comments - it is not for me though......
Anyway I stripped off three layer of assorted fabrics on the hood frame header rail - and the wood is shot! well it probably is original so 50 + years old. A new rail is now on order.

Also a new battery is in place, the timing has been set, petrol in the tank, petrol in the carb, wire to the coil, turned over ---but no start and no spark at the points or plugs....
Something to sort out next week. Still the front and a wing have been mocked in place.

I hope the curiosity doesn’t kill the moggie

    Hi dlonamow
There has been quite a lot of additional bracing put into the sills and elsewhere on the shell - so all is strong!

More progress as the back end is just about finished and the drivers door assembled - and loosely put in place! Still not started the engine though - perhaps tomorrow......

    Well it lives!
Checked throught the ignition system and there seemed to be a problem with the points so I took the contact breaker out, cleaned it up and reinstalled it. Set the gap, threw some petrol in the carb and it fired straight up. Jury rigged the pump and it then idled steadily.......
Then wired up the dashboard switches.

So here is the dashboard wiring so far - the speedo is next.

Today I had to change the fuel pump as the new looking one didn't reliably start - the spare works well though. I also assembled the passenger door, bolted the grille to the radiator panel, attached the hood catch mechanism - then loosely assembled the front end.......

Quick question for Minor specialists - I have replaced the early indicator switch with a later one but it appears to be slightly bigger as I then cracked the plastic switch housing. Is there a bigger switch housing for later cars - does the MG Midget/Sprite two part housing fit?

I'd ask on the MMOC personally. They are more anorak about these things (in a nice way)
