Diff - This looks the tits, well done mate

stevie.t - As the man says the CA18DET is older than the SR20DET. The engine code can be decoded easily, CA or SR is the block's name, 18 or 20 is the engine size (1.8 or 2.0), D means double overhead cam, E means electronic management and T is for turbo.

CA18DET is an iron block, with ali head. The cams are belt driven, the cams operate straight on to hydraulic lifters on top of the valve. 167bhp stock
SR20DET is an ali block but isn't any difference in weight. The cams are chain driven, they operate the valves via hydraulic lifters and rockers. 200bhp stock

The SR20DET can make more power. The CA get's a bad reputation for crap big ends. The SR though is now suffering from the big ends and some people are snapping the rockers. If either engine is well maintained then these big end issues don't occur.

Well she's running , running sweet as well . Even the Nissan immobiliser is operational. Got a few bits to finish off this weekend as she's going to a rolling road day next saturday. Will try and get a few runs out this week including a trip to the Dick Turpn on wednesday.

Took her out yesterday for a rolling road day for buysellcortina and classic ford. Apart from a couple of bolts coming loose and a clearance issue rearing its head she run lovelly . Dyno read 233bhp at the wheels , well chuffed as they are standard 200bhp.

Been a while since I updated this,
Now on 15" wheels that recieved a coat of gold paint

Two reasons for the bigger wheels , one grip , two bigger brakes.
Renault 21 discs , 4 pot sierra cosworth calipers with brackets made by Trevd.

Bit of an electronic upgrade with a Gizzmo boost controller , now hold 13psi , and feels a lot better on the road.
After a whle on the road I decided that the small bucket seats no longer gave the support or looked right , so a pair of recaros went to Neil Tadman which he trimmed in black vinyl to match the rear and he also done a black headliner .
