    My 34 3 window 90s throwback

    This is my 34.
Ive had it a long time and been close to giving up on it a few times, but Im going to see it through.

    Spec:
    34 Corner body, hidden hinges
Owner built chassis (with a lot of help from friends)
    Rover P6 + 4 sp manual
    8" Ford
Granada based IFS with Owner buit Wishbones (lots of help again)

And this is one of my inspirations, although there are clearly a few differences, not least of which is budget

Great to see another 34 getting built in the north east. I spot the rover v8, what other parts are going into the car?

All DIY builders need inspiration and the red one is a good start. Although the journey may seem endless do not fall in to the trap of over engineering.

Simple is good and the red one is just that. Rods and Sods is the place to put your build up thread and the lads will be along to give you moral and
    technical support.

Have a vision of what you want and take a job at a time to achive the car you want.
Anyone can write a cheque but its different to actually build YOUR car

That looks like it's getting there.
Have you got a big picture of the red one on the garage wall?

Was the red one a Li'l John Buttera built car ?

You have a good start on your 34, the 34 corner bodies come up really nice when well supported on the inside, keep the dream going you will be mega pleased with it.

    Cheers John

No, but I have a revolving desktop wallpaper at work with this and a few other inspirations.

I don't think it is a Buttera car, but I'm not really sure.
    It does have that look
The picture above is from American Rodder Top 40, 1996 and it doesn't give the details.
I have the mag it was featured in somewhere in my loft, so I should really dig it out.
It has really nice 1/4 elliptic leaf sprung front suspension, that I really wanted to do, but was and is a bit out of reach for me.

In the back of my mind, I think the owner wanted so many body mods it was better to get the body scratch built by Marcel de Ley

I have seen that red coupe before. Nice car, not a Buttera and from that pic I am seeing a transverse leaf and a rear 4 link?
Ian Burtons' silver 34 had the quarter eliptics used like torsion bars.

Geoff Cousins coupe is the one I have on my office wall.
