Bit of progress on the shed/workshop after a busy few weeks with the Supernats and Hot rod Drags, as well as taking two sons to two different universities.

Shed now has a roof and a front.
I've put some temporary shelves and electrics in so I can do stuff inside like insulating and panelling the walls, painting the floor etc.

I used reclaimed stuff for the roofing where possible so the inner ceiling is mostly second hand 1/4" ply and the pouter is second hand OSB that I got with the garage panels.
The insulation is from a bale of isowool I had left over from doing my loft ages ago.

In an unusual stroke of luck, after spending a few evenings looking for a stereo for the shed without success, a bloke at work came up to me out of the blue and said he was having a clearout, did I want his old panassonic midi system. Gratis. Result

    Evening Viewers.

After a prolonged hiatus it's time to get on with the car again.

Among other things, I want to get the engine running again, cos we all know what a lift it gives us, right?

So, suggestions please for a battery strong enough for a Rover V8 that is fairly compact, and a fuel tank to go in the boot, ahead of the axle line and behind the bulkhead that makes a good trade off between capacity and space utilisation.

    Evening all.
Haven't posted for a while, and progreess has been a bit slow.
Made redundant in 2018, found a great new job and well settled now.
Got a bit distracted with the old music sideline but started doing a bit on the 34 again.
Have to have a picture of the band though

So what have I done on the car?
replaced the drain cocks with brass plugs and fitted the tubular headers.
These were the first thing I bought when I signed up to Rods'n'Sods.
A Pig to fit, had to ovalk the holes and use one of those short spanners for some of the bolts.

Alsp when all that Classic car emissions consultation stuff was going around I decided I wan't going to faff about usingthe 4 speed to get a '72 number plate and use the LT77 instead.
Got the flywheel skimmed, new clutch.
Release bearing carrier was tricky to source and getting the spigot bush out of the crank was unbelievably difficult.
The drift I tried was a bit of tube with a bolt welded in. Wouldn't budge.
In the end I hascksawed it out (carefully) and it all went together.

I also set about making a mounting frame for the hood.
When I went to mount the grille it didnt line up properly, so it looks like the body is slightly off centre on the chassis.
A bit of a sickener, but also a blessing in disguise as it would have been much worse if I'd framed the body out before discovering it.
