Well after far to long, spent two days working on Pop, when I put the body on for a trail fit the wheels appeared to be pointing all over the place, so body off and did some measuring. I was pleasantly surprised, having built the chassis on the floor I was expecting to find I'd screwed it up, but all the measurements I took were within 1mm of so. The issue was the IRS was not straight in the chassis, its taken all day, but the radius arms are now fitted and its all adjusted and shimmed, what a pain in the as.... job that was. Still looks good now according the the string lines.

    Body Off

    Shocks installed

    String lines

    And no binding, job done.

First real muck up, put the body back on and tested the rear suspension travel, ops the tyres hit the inner arches when the suspension is compressed. Bug..r Bug...r Bug..r, I failed to allow for the camber increasing on upward travel, and worst, didn’t allow for the fact the arches curve in so much at the top, real school boy error. Guess i’ll be cutting the arches up tomorrow and inserting 3/4 of an inch. Just when I though I was making progress.

At last a few more bits done, body slowly getting bolted on as I work my way around it.

Enlarged the inner arches, 40mm inserted , not fab, but once finished will do the job

Front brake pipes mock up completed with mild steel now the stainless brackets to make

I had a similar problem with mine. I'd got the wheel/arch clearance perfect but then realised the car was sitting too high. I ended up cutting out the entire arch and moved it up by 50mm.

Get some epoxy primer on them ASAP or it wont be worth having them done.
