They're "Hifly" fairly insignificant Chinese cra…...sorry, tyre; I did have a set of M+S on my Landrover last year, and they were really good, but the choice was Hobson's, as they were the only ones I could find in that size (profile)

Thanks. I guess they're their 8 ply commercial spec - I think Pirelli might also do a similar size and spec, but of course at a greater cost. If they are, these days vans go around corners like sports cars, so you should be OK there!

It's not done, by a long way, but we did manage to get it to "an" event!

The best bit about doing an event like this, is you get people asking what is it? (which is fair enough) what was it? (****er) AND are you going to restore it? (like I haven't been working on the thing for the last 2 years) as well as looking at the '40 Ford rear lights, and telling their mates, it's a Citroen....

Austin Martin – It is nice to see your car out of the garage.

As I’ve enjoyed following your build progress and your writing style.

The first time I took my car to the Ace Café I had a bloke arguing with me about what I had done to it.

I told him one thing and he kept telling me that I was wrong.

Clearly, he didn’t really understand the concept that I’d built, not bought, the car.

Good luck with the rest of the build, Paul.

Thanks Paul; next job is putting some window glass/Perspex in, so it can be driven without goggles! interesting effect looking at the last picture, it appears as though the rust forming on the grille is evenly spaced at 4" whereas in reality it's all rusty!

Oh I've been real tempted to chop it, but I just cant bring myself to do it to such an original car, I'll have to wait for something else less original to turn up !

Good ones are the best mate, you don't spend months welding up rust before you start the fun stuff.

It's Impala time! took the rad over to Swalkool radiators, he was a diamond geezer and sorted it for next day, for £20! he did say it was a bit old and crusty (think he was talking about the rad) and that it really needed a rebuild, but that was £270...…

Undeterred by current wisdom or logic I purchased a second hand drop spindle / disc brake conversion for a tri five; all I can say is yes you can make them fit but...…..I think I might have more luck using the std spindle assy, and altering the brackets to fit, the discs are a good fit for the spindles.

What the picture doesn't show, is the serious negative camber, which might have looked ok on my old Anglia, but does nothing for this old beast!
