Thanks for all comments.
Thanks mate.
The plates were made traditional way: hole saws, grinder and file
have looked for decent picture of B post only found this one:
if I was doing it again I would make them completely from scratch, instead of using parts of originals as I did this time.
something similar to how I made rails over the doors, L shaped lengths of 2.5mm steel from local metal stockist, pie cut as required, then welded up:

Made this in 16 gauge to give it some rigidity.
initial brackets, screwed to plates welded at 90 degree angles on each A post:
channel pre folded by steel supplier, spot welded onto initial brackets:
lower panel for dash formed around scrap bit of pipe.
(As you can see, I like to work in a state of near clinical cleanliness).
Couple of beads being added to lower part.
Needs some final trimming. dash will be painted in body colour, with contrasting white upolstered insert to match interior. Gauges will then be recessed into insert.
glove box door will hopefully blend into upolstered insert, with hidden catch under dash.
Will put 3 or 4 ivory/white switches in space left in middle bead and may add an extra 2 dials, if it looks too empty.

Hidden Content Hidden Content Light me an axle i'll be back for breakfast, (just nipping back to the 70's)
Made a Hurst style front engine mount in 6mm plate.
This will probably get a row of lightening holes along lower horizontal strip.
Brackets on chassis will be tidied up with engine out.
sacrificed part of RSJ to make gearbox mount.
Cheers,
Gav.
