Body comes back from media blasters, covered in a phosphoric etch for protection.

You might recognise these photos from the adverts in Custom Car

    rear shot

    Looking sexy now

Door gets a first coat of epoxy primer,

And the inside on the second coat,

seam sealer gets put in all the water traps, before more primer coats,

All door skin edges are seam sealered up,

And the body starts to get primed to seal it up, epoxy is very glossy when wet!!

Now got to do lots of pinhole welding before primering, and now more primer is going on and some filler, before loads more body prep to get it all straight.

If you want to read the entire build up so far in full detail you can go here, http://www.hotrodphotos.co.uk/popindex.htm if you have an hour to spare!!

Hope everyone has enjoyed the build so far.

Cheers mate, its been hard work!!

    BORING!!! filler work

Got the rear end in primer now, and the filler goes on,

Filler goes on around the door frame,

New toys, flexi sanders, these are the dogs danglies, make profiling the panels a doddle.

Rear roof quarters are mostly roughed out now, and the rear panel is getting done.

Another small update, filler work is sooooo slow

Rear quarter is now almost there,

Front of chassis was prepped & primed,

and a marathon filler session on the roof got it roughly roof shaped.

Been living in garage for a few weeks, gradually getting the roof straight, and its now almost done.

4 weeks ago it was looking like this,

I thought it was straight, so gave it a coat of primer,

But this just showed it was waaaay off, lol.

    More filler,

    And more filler.......

Thought it was there then, so more primer,

But it was still out, so about another 20 skims of filler between flatting with the longboards has got it there tonight.

In the meantime, while the roof was being done, I did the rear panel,

    And primed it,

And also found time to paint the centre section of the inside of the roof.

I have finished the lower rear section too, but no photos yet.

Slow tedious filler work means long nights in garage with little to show photo wise, but stuff is being done.
Lower rear panel is now flat as glass,

Roof is now roof shaped, only took 7 weeks to get that bit done

    Rear wheel tubs get painted,

Inside rear of car gets some primer on,

And then 2nd coat of black primer,

Then 3rd coat in grey again,

Dash gets its first blow over coat to see where (more) filler work is needed,

    More soon

Been a while since I updated, bigger photos for you all now lots of filler work done, but not much to show for it as its slow work.
Also lost my mojo for a bit, so struggling to get into garage at the moment.

So where were we? oh yeah, dash was being done, well its completed now, all smoothed out and blended into the cage spreader bar.

Started prepping and filling the n/s sill, loads of work there, but its done now, and have now moved on to doing the A & B posts.
A posts are a nightmare chasing the filler flat around the louvre vent, as it keeps adding grooves/flats onto the side just done.

B post needed a little work with the flipper to get it straighter, then a liberal skim of filler to level it off, half done here.

A quick coat of primer to see how its going.

This revealed several areas that needed more work. Finally I got around to painting the door bars on both sides too, even these needed loads of filler work to get rid of draw marks and stampings.

    More soon

Work carries on, .......and on, and on.........
Drivers side needed a lot more work, but several skims of filler and some hammer & dolly work got it looking ok.

After a bit more dolly work on the high spot (black circle in filler) it was all straight, so I laid some primer on.

And then rubbed half of it off again

Had to weld up a small split when hammering a weld line again, so while welder was out I got around to adding the strengthening fillets to the shock batwings on the rear axle, it can now go off for media blasting.

More work later on the side of the car and another coat of primer went on.

Sills looking mighty fine and its only primer

A post still needs rubbing down again and more filler work to get perfect, but its getting there.
