A BIG, BIG thankyou to everyone who has encouraged and put positive comments on here. I appreciate it. With the little pills from the doctor, your help, and my wife pushing me to the garage, my enthusiasm is rekindled...in spite of the awkward bits to do! Special thanks to Mark of 3 holes.....that was very kind.
Anyway. I've ordered the panel beating set and the dent puller slide hammer and this afternoon managed to get my cheapo mig working!! I think I will still buy another for back up.
I'm using copious amounts of string to try and get the lines I need to work to. The attached pictures will shopw what I mean. Once I have these dents out, I will start making the wood for the lower panel and the start on the rear door. They've got to be done twice, once in cheap softwood....mistakes not so costly then.....before using them as patterns for the finishing wood. Not sure what wood to use yet. Wife and I are going to the Woodie meet at Wavecrest, San Diego in September and she has an idea for the colour so we'll see what cars are there in a similar colour and what wood works best with that colour.....and of course whether we really like that colour or not!
Again, thanks and I appreciate you looking at the pics....

PM pughy on here, Tom Pugh. His dad Colin has the 40 Humber woodie and can certainly advise you on what wood to use. His has been on the road a few years now and the wood still looks great.
