Got the clutch linkage sorted and the prop loop, made the steering box mount, go pedal in place and got the very important bollock protector in, brakes are next going to use an old hurst shifter as the lever, might even get to hrd`s!

can't see from the pic but I think you should have some sort of anti rotation link. Basically if the uprights, axle mounts or bolts fail, the axle is still retained. A triangulated link off of a bottom horizontal to a bracket on the underside of the axle would do.

i know it's not finished but something you should consider is a head restraint / pad. Duuno if the seating position is finalised but when sat in it properly, there should be a bar /s and padded structure behind your head.

Other thing is brake handle ratio versus the master cylinder bore. Most use 3/4in bore but you'll need to work out what you need for the brakes you're using and handle ratio etc. Maybe need to consider a proportioning valve also if using fronts.

For belts, go see some of the rear engine dragster teams at the summer nats. Most of us have belts out of SFI cert which we sell off cheap but perfectly usable. I recommend the RED teams as it's likley they'll have belts with lapbelts which pull towards the buckle, a lot easier to buckle yourself with arm restraints.

Thanks for your input, I will be fitting a anti rotation link and a head pad, already asked about master cylinder size and useing a 5/8 bore as running rear only calipers (jag), as for the lever ratio I am makeing it ajustable so playing with that at the moment, thanks for the belt advice as been looking but not found the right type yet,

if using only the rears, use a single circuit master cylinder. Some dual circuits have different pressures to the front or rear ports. Think it was an AP M/C which I had, it was a nice single circuit jobbie I got from Demon Tweeks, nice remote option reservoir as well.

On the belts, get the quick release buckle, the aircraft latch style are a pain in the arse, if buckling yourself in.

Did you get a steering box sorted, I think the one on my old slingshot was off a Pop or Model Y. Was actually better than the Strange one I have on my altered now.

Your sling shot is looking really cool and classic, esp. being powered by a Jag engine. I don't want to seem thick but what type of gearbox is that, because it looks to small ,does it just run 1:1 ratio to the prop? Anyway good luck with the rest of the build it's certainly going to be a lot of fun, nice one.

I have a black Simpson "wrap aorund the cage "style harness with aircraft latch you can have . It is out of date but obviously useable.

I'd mock up the engine with a trans behind it at least so you can drop one in easily if it doesn't work out. As nice as Jag's are, theres little torque in them compared to a V8. Modern track surface and tyres are light years ahead of the period where everything smoked. Don't forget they had lots of power and we're slipping the clutch as well.
