    Thanks for your support guys.
I often wonder what other people make of these threads as there must be a lot of "viewers" who never post comments.... Positive or negative.
Anyway my next major decision is how much of the floor pan to remove. The original "Super B" actually had the potential to "flip up" the body shell as it was hinged at the rear. I am inclined to have the body shell fully integrated with the roll cage/chassis in this car........

    Some massaging done today........

So the sheet metal below the windscreen was removed and now the engine goes further back. I have also started work on the front subframe by removing the rack to cut the centre out of the cross rack support ( the ends will be welded back to the main cross member as per the 1500 MG Midget)

With a carb roughly in place I can see that the block can go back another 4".

It looks like an aero engine in there!!! Got another foot of so to get it back as far as mine. Still liking the build. What axle are you using?

    Hi Foz
In fact I could move the engine right back if I kept the fuel injection on the engine - then it could be a real street sleeper with a standard bonnet......However I will be running 6 downdraft 40 IDFs with tall ram pipes ( Pure pose mobile I know!) so the bottom edge of the windscreen becomes the limiting factor.
The axle will be the XJS Jaguar IRS narrowed by 5" each side

For a bit of variety I have made a start on the inlet manifolds. I have cut off the flanges from a fuel injection system.

and the flanges off the Alfa inlet that suit the Weber base

Then the flanges will be swapped around to give a straight run into the inlet ports on the head.

Thanks Ifan, I still need to move it back about 4" more.
The manifold flanges will get about 2" of aluminium tube welded between them but I need to make a simple jig to hold the pairs in position for the welding, a couple of steel plates held in place by studding and nuts should do that I think.
