Thought it was about time I showed you my (very) long term project.
Here it was when I first got it from my dad, who gave it to me on condition that I didn't cut it up.

So, out came the grinder, out came the floor / bulkhead and in went a pair of Hauser rails, 4 x 2 main rails and a CDS roll cage (thanks to Guy for the bends).

OK, so it wasn't quite that easy, I had to fit new inner & outer sills plus I folded up some U sections to run along the inside of the sills. The floor will end up chanelled by about 2".

Rear end is a Chevy 10 bolt, bought already narrowed - which was nice. Paul G brackets, 4 bar by me.

Front end is Mk2 Escort x-member & rack, adjustable TCAs, Capri struts and off set top mounts. Column is home made from a Capri inner & Corsair outer.

Engine is a mildish 302, rebuilt by me. It's my first engine build so we'll see what happens there. Gearbox is a rebuilt (thanks Paul G) C4 with a shift kit.

Seats are Jaz.

And this is how things are looking round about now.

Good grief, You were building this years ago when I bought a narrowed Volvo axle off you for a pop which I finished about 5 years ago:shock: Looking damn good though, I look forward to seeing it finished in the (distant) future:bigsmile:

I always had a bit of a soft spot for Corsairs, remind me a bit of ford t'birds. I definitely think it looks the best with out a front bumper, so as to make the most of the odd but rather attractive front end styling. So glad it's being given a ford lump to,it's going to help the engine bay look almost factory.Looks great, good luck:cool:

Hi Derek, I couldn't use them in the end because they wouldn't clear the steering. Gutted!

I'm so glad you didn't cut anything inportant out. Love this car, I do love the Pro-Resto style of build. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.
I have cut the entire floor and bulkhead out - they're fairly important!

Question; Are the headers originally desgned for the Fox mustang? Coz I've been thinking of using them for my Mk-1.
Yes they are Fox Mustang shorty headers.
