Just back from two weeks in Majorca, now rejuvenated and back in the garage tomorrow,it's time to get the body off and fully weld up the chassis after double checking every thing is square, I also need to get the propshaft and drive shafts made, then splash soon paint on . More as and when , table for now.......

splitty66 - I was actually watching some old episodes of Sin City Motors the other day.

Twiggy always came across really well on TV, so it is good to hear she is that way in real life too.

Good luck with the rest of your build, Paul.

Whilst I'd be more than happy for Twiggy to work on my car project when she is in London, I think my wife would kill me if I even suggested it.

Hi before I take the body off I need to make the boot area a little less wobbly, so I started making the rear valance up ,first I made the lower seal lip up, and after a lot of hammer work I had the right curve ,then the balance was made 5 1/4 deep to line up with the prefect arch, I now need to make the cut outs for the exhaust tips then French in the rear fog/reversing lights, I 've seen some small 55mm round Hella lights that might do the job, I really needed some small oblongish lights to match the shape of the boot lid and exhaust tips but to no avail so far, the boot lid will be side mounted using 100e bonnet hinges,I have a fibre glass lid and a metal lid that needs a lot of repairs doing, .more soon................

i have now made the rear valance up , as the valance was totaly rotten i had to do it by guess work, it took about a week on and off and in total there is five parts to make the panel, the exhaust cut outs were made out of one piece then cut in two so they are the same shape, then i had to make the boot seal section which is just a u channel bent up on the sheet bender then it had to have a curve to match the boot, it took a lot of hammer work but i got there, at the mo the u channel is fully welded in but the valance parts are just tacked up, still not sure what fog/reversing lights to use , i really want some to echo the shape of the boot/tail pipes/original rear lights which are squareish/ oblongish, i now need more zintec and more gas, any way here are some pics ..........................
