Update part two, I have now made and joddled a strip of steel to weld in the centre of the bonnet 4DF1C84A-A49B-4BAF-8FE0-F0E71542A817.jpg01246B73-1912-428D-8502-373A539CD79E.jpgthen slowly started to weld it in 35AF889E-D71A-4C3D-A13F-7E72228E065F.jpg then ground it down, got two small areas of oil canning,if thatís the term, but Iím going to add some inner structure down the centre to add extra strength, then I added on two lengths of 11x9mm u shape steel to the edges to finish off the sides,28D02A7A-AD4F-499C-96BA-B8591913FBB5.jpg you can just make it out, just got to finish off all the grinding down of the bonnet and a bit of gap adjustment to the rear edge, then I made a st art on the side panels, they will be bolted on I just need to work out how to,206F867E-4AE3-4CBC-AA64-6342B004D9BD.jpg, this lot took 4 hours yesterday and 4 hours today in a hot sweaty garage enjoying times.....

E62DC109-FB92-4CA3-9E47-67CA143498EA.jpgWoopie doo, ALL the welding is now officially done, over the last two days Iíve finished off all four doors, thank god thats done, Iíve still got to make a couple of small brackets for the pass side front door for the lock/ handle, then when the doors are rehung final gapping to do, as you can see in the picture above all the doors need grinding down. Next job is to work out how to make and mount the running boards, Iíve also bought a new spray gun in readiness for paint , which should be soon hopefully, more as and when......

Well after a bit of self isolation I made this

    CD319975-A894-4054-9FAD-E8635D2CDC51.jpg

    and with this

    96BB8CA2-3EBF-4CCC-9AEA-E458DAD11C55.jpg

i need to make two of these

    BF78ADE0-2480-4447-A163-1E908074042C.jpg

and I came up with this

    E74E087B-BE07-491F-845D-6F58A0A09172.jpg

a bit over sized but I’m well pleased I’ve also mounted the offside door mirror

    F7EBBA08-2938-4C97-9475-FD01EC3D518E.jpg

I’ve also fitted the boot lid , it just needs a bit of gapping done the that’s ticked off the list, I now need to fit the near side wings so I can trim the running board to size, pics as and when , look after yourselves in these dark days, hopefully many more days in the garage to come .

Well after two days of isolation in the garage I’ve finished the pass side running board , I had to fit both wings and that led to some mods to the front wing as I wasn’t wide enough at the rear, and my favourite angle of the car

Well nearly two weeks in the garage and what a lot got done, boot lid gapped and filled, running board all welded up and strong enough to stand on I had to make a bracket to support the front of the board, it bolts to a wing mount bolt, the rear wing is all but filled and sanded, waiting on some fibre glass resin to turn up then onto the front wing then fill and sand , all the passenger side is also filled and sanded, I’ve started to fill the pass doors but I’ve still got to strip all the original paint off, then hopefully Sunday or Monday i should be Turing the car round to re gap the off side doors and make the running board, not sure if I’ve got enough gas to finish the board off , hopefully in about two weeks I should have the first coat of high build on , cheers for now ,be safe.

Small up date, pass side doors stripped to bare metal and etch primed, front wing fibre glassed up just needs filling then that side is done, turned car around yesterday to start on the running board and final door gapping then check wings for fitment, then hopefully ready to start getting some paint on , plus had a cheeky drive to the paint shop and got 5ltr of top coat, getting so excited now , I’ll get some pics up as and when cheers...
