    Project Street Rover V8 100e

It is with great excitement that I post my new project. Everyone will know this one so it need no introduction.

It's in a sorry state & needs numerous new panels & lots of TLC

It's had a 4" front stretch to allow the fitment of a Ford V8 & comes with numerous wings, bonnets & front panels.

My plans are Volvo rear, Escort front & Lexus V8 power.

I'll keep this page updated as best I can

Looking forward to seeing this progress and be returned to a cared for condition. Whilst it would have been neat to put a Rover back in, the Lexus should make a good update.

A classic evolving into a new car

The Lexus V8 is a great idea, cheap power and reliable not a temperamental race spec motor

    Cool

Thanks for all the comments. Here is a little history about the car.

The car started life as a stock 100e

Paula ran the car in this guise for a while finish in metallic purple paint with a black candy top coat. In 1989 the car ran a 12.27 @ 111mph 1/4 mile

In 1990 the car was further tweaked and got down to a 11.96 @ 119mph

It then had a feature in the November 1990 Street Machine Magazine

1991 saw the car have a eye catching colour scheme, the same purple base but now sporting some dayglo slripes

The car ran a new 11.62 @ 128mph so the tweaking was paying off Very Happy

In 1992 the car was put up for sale to help fund their second 100e build

and was purchased by Steve Brown

Steve ran it with some success but sold it on in 1993-94

but sold it on to Mark Burton in November 1994

Don't know what Mark did with it, but it was sold onto Dave Perrott in April 1996

It was raced by Dave for a few years but engine problems saw it stored away for the next 20 years being stripped of parts & stashed under a tarpaulin

It was delivered 02/05/2015 to me

    So that's where I'm upto..

I've had a quick look over the car & it needs the following panels I can see.

Inner Sills repairs at front ends
Outer Sills repairs to front ends
    Rear quarter panel lower corners
Rear boot lid gutter lip, replacement panel sorted
Rear valance, will make panel up.
Repair to drivers side rear chassis

I'm looking at making a new chassis to tie into the original cage & 4-link rear setup that's there already.

I'll keep this page updated as best I can.

Very nice that you have so much history about the car. Keeping this thread updated will help in providing motivation for you when things don't go to plan and the costs start to escalate........and it won't and they will.
