Not be here in a while, busy busy all the time, doing god only knows what, but progress has been made:
I got the Corvair box all cleaned and greased and reassembled.
Started on the plumbing, with a Ford MC:
'P clips' do not exist in the Philippines, and nobody can tell me what they use to secure brake pipe. I made some myself but it was not very successful and I'll be ordering a hundred or so in various sizes from Speedway in the very near future.
Brake lever is now in place with poly bushings and stop screw.
Tranny cooler and fuel plumbing is in place, just needs them P clips to finish......
There's a 15" electric fan on order that will be spliced into my home made stainless fan shroud sometime.
And I made a battery tray to keep the battery under the passenger seat.
I made a special tool to fit new bearings to the Ford 9". That went fairly painlessly.
Not sure if I mentioned it, but we're building a new house and workshop over here, and should be moving in before Xmas. I designed it, and had a local;y based American contractor build it.
And this is my bit:

So where are you based?
We just moved back to the UK after 5 years on Bantayan Island, just off the coast of Cebu.
Nice build by the way.
Loving this build thread, it's all lookin' good so far and should look wild when you get it on the road, nice garage too!
We're in Angeles City, just north of Manila. We lived there from '96 to '02, but then moved back to the UK for 8 years. Last year we decided to move back to the PI again. What drove you to leave for England?
Thanks. I can't wait to get into the garage, but I'm sure there will be a huuuuge list of 'honey doos' in the house to take care of first.

We ran out of money so came back here to work. Plus we now have a 2 year old daughter and I wanted her to get a decent education without the religious indoctrination. It was a bloody good life while it lasted.
One of the brits on Bantayan used to work offshore for an American company. Joe Okeefe, a Glaswegian, just in case you know him.
No mate, not heard the guys name.
We had a one year old daughter when we moved back to England. I was worried about my job as well at the time, but it came to nothing, still with the same company ten years later. We have our daughter in a private International school now, she's ten now. Still some religious brainwashing, but not as bad as the local schools deal out.

KH, didn't realise you were on here too
Looks like a cracking project, will be watching keenly![]()
The project hasn't been forgotten, just sort of on the back burner. My dream garage, that was to be so well planned and painted and sorted before I moved in, turned into chaos as the house move went crazy. Everything is just in a huge pile, most of it on top of my rod...
The building contractor gave us so many lies and false promises, I'm sure he believed his own bull****. :****er:
Hopefully I can get back into it sometimes soon.
