hi, is the gearbox beam/crossmember the large flat plate i can make out in the pics? if so are you adding anything else to the plate to stop it flexing up and down with the weight of the engine/box? we did one just like this on an 82 monte carlo and it flexed up and down like you wouldn't believe. we put a piece of flat bar on edge front and back of the plate to make it an i beam and that sorted it. we were amazed that plate that thick could flex that much but it did.
need a job done on your project? i may be able to help.

Yeah, it's the flat beam, I had considered the flex so the top part of the mount is going to be a section of 50 x 50 angle iron to stiffen the whole thing up!! Hopefully that should keep the whole thing nice n flex free haha :-)

More images of the progress, not had much time working on her for a while but here is my recent progress!! Engine is now fully mounted and the bonnet shuts with clearance, manifolds fit in leaving almost perfect clearance to the steering shaft and I settled on using a mazda mx5 mk3 hydraulic rack and a Nissan skyline aftermarket rad and fans to keep things cool. other bits complete - walbro 255 pump fitted to tank and monaro throttle pedal assembly mounts fabricated and fitted.
hopefully this coming week I aim to form the dipstick tube around all the mounts and run as much of the wiring as possible, ill also be measuring up for the radiator mounts.
