Start of the school holidays and kids nagged me to build the tot rod I'd promised to them build 6 months ago. I got the body from a chap on this forum who makes the bodies and the mobility scooter locally off ebay.
So Monday I was off work , so made a start at 2 pm, they had nagged me from Sunday night! Got my thinking cap on and stripped the scooter down to bare frame, decide the chassis needed to be tapered to fit the body, the front axle extending in width and moving forwards. So out comes the grinder and welder and 6 hours later kids are off down the street on it:tup:
Next up is to paint the chassis, fit the body and battery box properly and paint the body. I fancy red , sort of zz top style, but the kids want black and flames.
The foot pegs where a great find, something I've kept hold of, off an old bike maybe 7 or 8 years ago!
