    .....Er, I already got one.......!

(check out post 857 above, AFR gauge has black rim just above steering column)

I couldn't understand why she was rich on cruising, lean on acceleration, and didn't respond to my attempts to change that the other way round.....

So I sold the Holley and bought a pair of Edelbrock blower carbs...... same problem!

Now Ive sussed it the engine is scrap!

    All part of the fun.

Challenge now is to get her up and running again asap without spending too much money.

If someone has a 350 SBC with forged pistons which they want to give away.......

    .....Oh well, perhaps not.
So I'm probably gonna fit a 305 for now.

I may live in East London, I may have a number plate that reads "Chopt", but I do NOT use 6" wheel spacers!

So brought the 305 SBC home, only place I could put it in the dry was the engine bay.
I havent dropped it right in yet, want to check starter shims etc while you can actually poke the paper clip in.

A list of stuff to sort before she's up and running:

Drill inlet manifold to suit vortec heads.
Swap camshaft for the blower cam from previous engine.
Sort out how to mount blower pulley and v drive onto harmonic balancer.

Also I will probably scrap the 2nd radiator mounted at the rear, and make a shroud for the front rad and switch from mechanical fan to electric.

I will also need new rocker covers to suit the centre bolt heads - anyone got some that I could buy?

As the 305 has stock pistons I'm going to keep it down to about 6 or 7 psi, should be fine ..... if I set the fuel pressure correctly!!!

    Thanks Neil.
That's another possibility, I see what comes up.
I might end up using my old heads anyway.
