Didn't have a lot of time today so welded up some engine mounts , just so happens they will sit in the middle of the original cross member ( result )

done a couple of rover v8 conversions on the magnum and vivas, on one we did the p6 mount on the block and the rubber actually dropped straight into the mounts on the crossmember! all we did was slot the holes and beef it up a bit, was a 1256 I think, another good point when setting the engine wher you have is that the sd1 radiator slides a treat between the front chassis, and just needs the lower valance trimming to get it to sit low enough, I even used the sd1 hoses and fan etc
i want cubic inches! lots of em!!

I'm using the round type from a range rover engine mount with the stud either side ,
In the picture there is a m/s boss tapped the same as the mount , that welds to the flat plate then , the 2 flat plates go either side of the tube , the studding is just to hold it all together while welding .
Hope that makes a bit more sense Neil

Any more pics of the engine install? I'm hopefully putting a 3.9 in mine but I'm starting with the 2.3 magnum auto and it's the same box as the sd1 so I've been told?? So hopefully will be an easy swap, just bolting the engine to the box, making engine mounts and exhausts to suit. Should be quite good fun and hopefully it works ok as I don't have much money or ability to do it myself... Your project looks way beyond anything I could do or afford! Looks cool though!
