Same here, omeprazole and gaviscon for years and still constant reflux and heartburn....until three weeks ago I started a keto diet, google it, similar to atkins diet, I have now stopped all reflux and heartburn meds and have had no reflux or heartburn whatsoever, I started the keto diet to try and loose some weight but the side effect of having no heartburn is even better ! I am sleeping much better and getting to sleep very quickly, also wakening up earlier and feeling bright first thing....ok so I have had to give up beer and gin and tonic but the good news is gin soda water and lime is ok and I`ve been having a dam good go at it lol.... Google the Keto Diet and judge if it might be for you, loose weight and loose the heartburn...

For what it's worth I managed to get rid of my acid reflux by changing from Tetley tea to PG Tips, I just realised that it often came on after a cup of tea.......

I achieved the same thing by giving up drinking tea altogether, which I thought was going to be difficult after drinking it for over 50 years, but it wasn't, it was easy.

My dad used to say "the key to a successful diet is knowing the difference between need and greed" and he was spot on.
Anyway I had the last of the pack of ginsters pasties today (i couldn't waste them) and will have fruit instead in my lunch from now on.

Neil aren't some fruits acidic. Might be best to limit those

Could it have been the caffiene content?

My wife is doing Slimming World as it suits her to have a weekly weigh in and all the support
    (much like we've got here!).
She says the first half stone is easy (got her certificate this morning) but it gets progressively harder. However, it is relatively easy to maintain a healthy weight when you get there. I do most of the cooking and its surprising how many adapted recipes there are. I'm rather partial to the doner kebab meat...
