Clockwork Orange would put that at late seventies (or even early eighties possibly) and the RHC Chassis board in the second shot would make that one mid eighties, I worked for Reg Chatwin around that time.
Great pics JP, those early meets at Long Marston never attracted many BIG cars but they definitly made up for it with big fields of Street and Modified cars like that Corsair which as you say MOPAR is very much a cool wall candidate......
I know the "Stripteaser" mini funny car has been restored to it's original condition, but is it the same car that was called "The Cunning Plan" in green, wite & pink, or is that another one with the same sort of body shell?
Totally different car. Stripteaser is a Jag engined survivor from the seventies, as you say, now fully restored after a long hiatus in France. Tony Jones' Cunning Plan was a street legal Rover engined Mini Van in the late eighties and morphed into the glass flip bodied comp altered that it is today over the following years.
I ran at Long Marston late seventies/early eighties. The organising crew/marshalls were all great guys and a superb atmosphere.
Sheep were friendly as well...
Ah the good old days.
Used to be taken there as a young lad by my old man when he crewed for Roy Wilding.
The funny car is Lesley Pryor with I believe 'titch' lining her up.
