Attachment 1438John Ford & Crew`s 36 Ford cabro # 1.jpgFordies 36 Roadster.jpgJohn Parry Checking the Tow rope.jpgJohn Ford & Crew`s 36 Ford Cabro # 2.jpgPic of my 32 Ford in Grimsby Evening Telgraph 1968.jpg[ATTACH12439[/ATTACH][B]Here`s one of the first Hot Rod`s that was built in the U.K. Grimsby by four of my mate`s, John Ford who has always swayed to ww2 miltary vehicles he has a super collection of orig Jeeps & DUKW`s.. There were 3 other Guy`s in this sindicate & you can tell by the way they built this 36 Cabro that they didn`t buy the American Hot Rod mag. In 1962 the 4 of them went to the fiirst American Hot Rod meeting at Manchester in the 36 Ford Cabro & I went in John Parry`s Ford F100 & the next day after the meeting went to Skipton Yorkshire to look at a 34 Ford Coupe that was advertised in MOTOR SPORT which was my 2nd choice of Coupe but when John Parry & myself went into the barn with the owner , yes it was stored in a barn, the coupe was a 32 Ford 5 window, wow I couldn`t beleave my luck. The guy wanted £200 & I only had £100 I begged & pleaded with him to let me have it & he eventually said Ok. John towed it home to Cleethorpes & the rest is history, a very long time ago. The Meeting was organised by the late Clive Lingard who was Chicago John`s best mate , there were also some American Guy`s there advetising Wynns oil adertive & they ran some Drag racing films of the late 50`s, that was great cos we had never seen a real drag meet .,They were also selling super Californian Saturn black baseball jackets with the Wynns logo on & red button`s, & yes I sure purchased one. Can anyone else remember this meeting. There was also parked outside a 31 Model A ford panel van. Great memories.......Cheer`s Bri
