    Rust ?

    Having owned and worked on a fair few old cars,(American Stuff)and looking at a lot of the stuff in the history section,is it me or was the steel better quality 30's/40's,pretty good on 50's and garbage in the 60's ?,Bry

    Yeah definitely Bry , poor build quality combined with crap materials produced some horrendous offerings during the 60's and 70's . Just check around the front and rear screens of anything that hasn't spent it's entire life in a dry state ... mind you I think it's the same for cars from all countries not just USA , remember the Lancia fiasco in the late 70's early 80's

    My '88 Mustang should never go rusty as it was galvanised when built (it's a shame no-one told the sills or rear wheelarches). The steel is incredibly thin. When we polished it the roof skin wobbled more than Jordan's tits if she rode a pushbike down a cobbled street.
