    Another MOT question

If a car is registered as MOT exempt, which I think you have to do with qualifying cars rather than just decide you're not MOTing any more, what happens when you check it against the DVLA website? Does it come up as exempt or just 'no results' as if it can't be found?

Some exemption is automatic, some is declared when taxing . Far as I'm aware it just comes up no results .

A mate got pulled in his 50s Yank and the copper was going to try to do him for no MOT .

If it's exempt then it shows up as No Results Returned

Can't wait until my arsehole of a near neighbour sees me take my Spitfire out on the road - I just know he'll go straight online and check the tax (which it has) the insurance (which it has) and the MOT which will say 'No results found' . . . .

Reminds me of a few years ago when we had some builders around doing some work. One of them said to me "You haven't had too much trouble with that" indicating my MG. In his lunch break he'd been looking up the MoT history site where you can see all the passes and fails and details of what a vehicle has failed on. There's so much of our lives in the public domain now. At least now it doesn't require an MoT!
