    application for log book

Hey guys, sorry,Ive been away for a long while, mostly because there's too much good stuff in the classifieds I really cant afford to be buying..,anyway,I'm in this section to ask for contacts of a fellow who used to post here about licensing vehicles,he was very clued up ,trust me there's nothing ominous about my request,Ive just had a strange letter requesting transfer of ownership of one of the cars I've had here ,,since the early 70s,which is still here (in all its earthly form)I would like to have a quick chat over the phone about it.

Going to get on my high horse and make even more people hate me. Getting REALLY ****ed of with stupidity within the rodding scene

Another car with an attempted ( so far) identity theft . To get a dodgy logbook to avoid BIVA a car has to 'die' . Once they were scrap cars but now, more and more , it's the identity of someones vehicle being stolen meaning they can no longer use their car.

If they don't fight for it then it means that either THEY in turn have to purchase a dodgy logbook ( losing any original Grandfather Rights) or rebuild to go through BIVA .

If they DO fight it then often they still lose their reg if built after 1998 and also the new build with the stolen identity also gets sent for BIVA ...plus the very real possibility of a large fine AND /OR time in prison.

I even know of stolen logbooks being stolen back and sold on again.

Yeah yeah , I know, what's it to do with me , I should just wind my neck in and let people get on with it Remember 'you' said that when it's YOU in that situation.

If enough people fight for their books back then it'll raise flags at DVLA .

BIVA test is £450 with unlimited restests ,for 6 months, at £90.

Would the police not involved in something like this.as you said, its v5 theft,. So someones trying to do a dodgy one.

Stuff you mentioned never needed to go on in the ,70,s as you could do whatever wanted to youre car,so didnt need to get a different v5.

Being nosey to the op can you say what car or maybe van it is.

Also as youve had the car sinse the 70,s wouldn't that be easy to prove its youres.

Any ideas where they obtained youre details from.pic on the web or similar.

Just goes to show its sll still love and peace in rodding.no one out to **** anyone else over.

Dealt with another two recently where photos weren't about on the 'net ...well recently at least . Sites that show every car out there over the 40 years are easy pickings.

bizarly ive just spoken to someone who has applied for log books.

apparently they look through old magazines from years ago and the net. then cross reference the reg numbers with the online tax sites.if the cars shown to be off the road for a number of years, they apply for the v5.

    and apparently its quite sussesfull.
