    can i tax it??

I had a cheap run about that i'd not used in a while, had a tax reminder come through for the end of the month, what with everything going on, i'd forgotten the MOT had run out about 3 months ago as i'd not been using it, so now with all the lock down I was thinking of using it as have an relative I food shop for that's not far away and cheaper to run too, but do I have to wait until this all calms down and the MOT places re open to MOT it so I can tax it or can I tax it and MOT it when things are back to normal ???

I know it was ok to use a car if the MOT had just ran out, but it didn't mention if it had already ran out if you could tax it and use it, if it is in a road worthy condition....

    The short answer is no!!
The MOT extension is only if the current one runs out AFTER 30th March and you can continue to use the car after the due date but the test will need to be done 6 months after expiry. So if the test was due on 1st April, it will now be due on 1st October.

I had to take it to go to the doctors . It had no tax and no MOT...I felt like a proper outlaw hotrodder.
