Are the full current MOT regulations viewable online? I've just followed umpteen links without getting anywhere.
I understand that the MOT should test engine emissions on whichever is older, the car or the engine. However, when I mentioned this to my local MOT place (n.b. I haven't done the engine swap yet), he looked at me blankly, and said "we just test them as they are", ie based on the age of the truck (2002).
I suspect (hope) this is because no-one takes modified cars there, but before I spend time and money doing a swap, I'd like to be able to read/quote/print off the relevant portion.
Does my twin-cab Ranger get the same MOT test as a regular passenger car?
Also, has anyone put an old engine in a newer car, and if so, how did they prove the age to the MOT station? According to the chart on Burtons website, my engine is May 1975, but I somehow doubt that'll cut it!
p.s. anyone know of rod-friendly MOT stations in Aylesbury/North Bucks?
