i found the topic boring as well.

you still havent answered the bit where you stated everyones going to get a tug.

    can you elaborate with facts.
was out yesterday and the nice mr policeman just smiled at me.maybe he was laughing who knows.never got a tug.

how about some pics of youre 29pu.i take it it went through the sva ok.

i dont think it just the pro builders who found this topic and you uniteresting.
with 2500 members there was few reply,s.

Unfortunately it can still apply when modifying an existing car. Go outside the 8 points system and if caught the car will still be sent for BIVA . just like Andy Saunders Bentley and the only mod that caused the problem was the 3 inch roof chop.

If anyone wants to check out the legality situation of their own cars you are welcome pm me rather than plaster your details out in the open.

I used to enjoy building cars and running a rod, then all this crap was thrust into the lime light. It put me right off. Went to Vegas to see if I could rekindle some enthusiasm for the rod scene, almost managed it, them come back here and find another one of these posts and straight away Im back to square one ... ..LOL.... The rod building scene has been prety strong in the uk over the past 25 years, probably the best 25 years its seen, I personally doubt it will last another 25, If it does there will be no where near the volume of cars built in the same period.

TBH, i dont think the whole whatevercar scene will last that long. i truly believe that if by that time your "car" aint solar/electric powered and completly build of inviroment friendly materials, we will be walking at that time and all our cras will be museum pieces. wehter its a rod, custom or stock car.

    Re: pro build BIVA

I tend to agree with you Pascal, strangely we have never been in a more solid position in one way and more shaky in another.

Environmental issues and component supply will certainly limit our future .

If we adapt we will survive but I fear the more 'routine' modifying of up to 10 year old cars will stop and that will effect our supply chain for many components .

As Ian says our glory days are behind us , in so many ways .

Personally I'm just tidying up my fleet and , after 1 more build (hopefully) , will be happy to mess with what I have now. I'll be tinkering and improving but I'm personally almost done.

I'd say to all if you want to build anything , don't put it off ,get it done and enjoy it while you can.
