not trying to do anything really, was wondering if the a40 dorset, devon, pickup, front suspension was simular and what sort of interchangability there could be with later BMC front suspension ,such as A50 range and later A60 and MGB, i supose i was thinking could a A40 devon be rodded within the points system by mixing other BMC parts.

Which A40 are you asking about? Devon & Somerset certainly had different suspension to Farina era Austin A40s where the parts were from the A35/Sprite family.

am i right in thinking the front suspension starting on austin A40s was a simular design as used on later BMC products such as cambridge, oxford, mgb, westminster and lots more, are any of these interchangable ,can mgb disc brakes be fitted to earlier suspensions?
