Well I've managed to spend a few more hours in the garage removing a bit of filler Have uncovered the holes for the emblem and unfortunately for bodged repair work :****er:
Oh and I've worn out my wire wheel for my grinder so off to the shops for a new 1 before any more clean-up.

just came across this thread. Didnt realise they made Pontiac in Antwerp. My '67 Camaro was made in the GM plant there, in 1966 in fact, ready for the launch in 67.
It spent all of it's life in Belgium until i brought it with me to England some 10 years ago when i moved here.
Good luck with the project, you made the right decision not to race it.

Well I've managed to get into the garage at last. Seeing as the weather has been useless . So I decided to continue the paint / filler removal on the passenger side rear quarter, this is taking a lot of time using a grinder and wirewheel . It took me nearly 2 hours to remove the paint on this section, top of wing as well. Have been putting a light coat of black over where I've remove everything just to protect the metal, I don't need more areas that need welding

    OK Car fans. BIG news........

    She's Alive.....

Fuel and battery are rigged up, BUT who cares. This is the first time that the engine has been run in at least 5 years, I've had it 4 years and was told it had been standing for a year before I bought it.
I have a couple of oil leaks off the rocker covers to sort and a few minor tweeks to do but I am SO glad that it's running.
