made some good progress over the last few weeks on the cortina but this weekend she goes into storage for awhile while i get back on the fastback. refitting the holley carb has been a god send as she has never run so good and its enabled me to crack on with some of the smaller items that wanted doing, how ever we are pretty much done so i feel this is a good time to have some time off this project and get back on with the vw which i have not been near for a year. i really want to get it done so it can get sold and move on to something mush bigger.
get some final pics on over the weekend.

hi foz, good to see you back.
managed to find room for a proper clutch pedal so all is good.
i now have some where else to put the cortina so by the end of the week it will be out of the garage and out of all the grinding dust. central locking now all sorted so over the next few weeks i am going to get back on with the fastback.

yes , depending on the vacuum number that gives you your power valve size. still have that to sort but making some reel progress, for a change.
ordered some new central door locking motors as the cortina has never had a good remote system, so today got them fitted.

i have a dead bolt on the drivers door that fires into the door pilliar and a reworked mech on the passenger side but now its pretty secure.
also ran the buffer over the car to get rid of of all the marks on the front wings / doors and boot lid. just got to wire it all up tomorrow.

If I remember correctly the number on the valve is the vacuum that it opens at.

yeah but if said valve didn't make the mixture richer when you booted it the car wouldn't go faster so it 'is' a power valve, plus 'power valve' (he say's in a deep voice) sounds much cooler

with some smaller jets and the carb body round the right way car is back up and running and boy does she sound good, the only thing it may need is a bigger power valve as the carb only has a 5 fitted and standard it should have 6/6.5.
