ive brought carbs/manifolds/wheels/loads of steering wheels and an eberspacher petrol heater back from holidays and the only thing they have ever pulled me up on was a 2" section of steering column ,coz it might just be a gun barrel?!!!.also 1 trick is price up how much to post your laundry home to make way for extra car parts.

ive brought all sorts of old crap back from the states, the hardest thing is keeping to the weight limit. anything new take out the packaging, they very rarely pull anyone in customs when you get back here, and to be honest don't think they would be bothered about a few old car bits

    Customs and used car parts

    Hi,

Gonna be visiting California a lot next year with work.
Planning on attending a few swap meets to pick up some bits for my Gasser project whilst I'm there.

My question is hows customs on hand carrying this sorta stuff back?

If i stick an intake manifold in my luggage or some smaller parts in my hand luggage, will customs complain?
Do i even need to declare this stuff?

Not done much of this travelling stuff so apologies for my ignorance.

    Thanks all
