    Depending what you are doing suspension wise you may need to derate your original springs if boxing. Tech article I did a few years back now

    I did think about tubular reinforcements. I've already got a pipe bender which helps. Doesnt seem as strong a design though, but id imagine it would still be plenty adequate for my street usage.

    Pick up chassis are designed to flex....more practical on crap roads/farms etc....
    Simply boxing the frame will stiffen it considerably. Crossmembers are usually altered to accomodate new running gear.

    Chassis Bracing and Strengthening

    Im tearing my truck back down at the moment. First thing that strikes is how flimsy the chassis is. Im expecting very reasonable power from the engine rebuild next year so the chassis has to be able to cope.

    Heres a standard one

    The cross members are flimsy and riveted in, Im looking for idea's on sorting it out. I was thinking of putting in new cross members, welding them to the inside of the chassis walls..and then box in around it. Would this be the correct way to do it? Also where to put new ones in? same place as the originals?

    I've seen the way Wayne has done one of his on a build thread, Seen below. Would something along those lines be a better set up?

    What have you all done? Put some pics up if you can.
