I am on the UK Corvette club - we were 'approached' recently for a 'new' TV programme being filmed for a car that would go fast in reverse. Seemingly headed up by one of the guys from Fifth Gear (Jonny?) they had been told that a Corvette was one of the fastest cars in reverse gear! - and they wanted someone to provide a car to do this. Couldn't make it up if you tried!
Stay well away from any of these shows - they do have large budgets for themselves but little of it will be spent on you and your car - they take the **** and work on the basis that you will do anything to see your car on the TV. One of my buddies had his car 'restored' by one of these shows - other than a nice paint job they really f*cked the car-up. Over a year later and he is still trying to sort all the things wrong with it now that were perfect before they got their hands on it.

If you want models over mechanics, set a couple of birds on with big tits and few spanners, preferably with copious amounts of Slick 50 that they keep rubbing over each other, then they can wash it off as they valet the cars and squash their boobs up against the glass as we view the camera angles from inside.

What?! Don't blame me, he started it with his fantasy about a television show that blokes would watch.
I was just giving him a few pointers

I've been asked more than a handful of times over the years to be included in a variety of tv shows/appearances,

Literally on EVERY occaision they have expected me to bend over backwards to assist them for "the opportunity to be on tv" as they put it,

On another occasion a team of 4 of us were screentested for scrapyard challenge and even given a 5 day filming date which came to nothing but only because we rang them a few days before.

TV people, do yourselves a bit favour and dont be so be so stuck up your own arse and be more honest with the people that are your show content.
