I have been asked to finish this thread off with a summary of what it is like to live with. It has been on the road for 18 months and I have done 10,000 trouble free miles, it is the cheapest car to run I have ever owned at 44 plus MPG. It is also comfortable and will cruise at 85mph all day on a private test track, there is no bump steer and has a good turning circle. It lives outside and is used all year, there a a few small areas of bodywork to touch up but the bodywork is standing up well. The axle ratio is too low at 3.5 so I bought a Crown Victoria axle with 2.9 but have been reluctant to take it off the road up to now. When I redo the bodywork in the future I will cut the front arches and raise them a couple of inches, I like the way it sits but the front wheels are too covered.
I love this. Great work. I have a 47 Aerosedan on it's way. Will start by getting it on the road with original mechanics, but seriously thinking that for a truly usable vehicle modern(ish) mechanicals from a "single" donor are the way to go. Love this BMW power. Craig
Great build I like your use of the bmw pedal box and steering I like your colour choice also
Thanks for the positive comments, this has been a long time finishing. I was not sure if the colour was right but with the chrome on it looks great. Rich
LookS great rich and your welcome lol
That is gorgeous.
Very very nice ime pleased to see its almost finished, watched the build from the start.
Thanks SYD I had some problems with the paperwork and I could not get it to run, both issues have recently been resolved so I have had it sprayed by Popmad and the chrome redone. It is now going back together and will be on the road soon.
Did you finish this coupe rich ?? Real nice car and the 34 is a cracker still
